Every time I travel, I love to check out local - well known restaurant, especially Asian (Chinese, Japanesse, Korean, Thai & others), Italian, Mexican, French, Greek and well..American cuisine. From my last trip I went to Bamboo Buffet. It's a traditional chinesse buffet with a complete choice of various cantonesse and mandarin style cuisine with a small touch of Japanesse sushi & sashimi bar. It also provides 1 buffet for "American taste" such as pizza, drumettes, fried chicken & french fries, spaghetti meat ball, and standard american-chinese food (which I didn't try, I rather try something that is less common). The buffet served majority wonderfull seafood specialities such as : Garlic, pepper & salty butter sauteed prawn, roasted duck, braisted duck, fried big shrimps, steamed crab legs, swee kee (frog leg), chicken feet dimsum, fried fish, Salmon with honey bbq sauces, shrimp pop corn, stuffed pepper, tripes, Onion mushroom, etc. It also has a Chinese style BBQ, with a chef that always ready to cook it for us on the spot. I didn't try the standard chinese-american food such as General Tso, kung pao etc so I couldn't give comment on those dishes. However, the prawn & shrimps are excellent, the roasted duck really cantonesse style, it's very tasty, although the braisted duck was a bit too salty for my taste. The sushi bar & sashimi were great although it had limited choices. The Chinese style BBQ was very good too. If you love sweet dessert this isn't the place. The dessert table isn't as fancy as food buffet, I would say the dessert buffet was pretty standard, some peanuts coated with sugar, almond cookies, rice pudding some jellow and some can fruits, however there were some choice of chinese traditional dessert that is rarely find such as mung bean soup (sup kacang hijau), tofu pudding with ginger (Kembang tahu tokwa), moon cake, red bean soup with coconut milk. Overall I rated 4 stars for the taste, 4 starts for choice of rare menu, 3.5 stars for the dessert. If you happen travel to this area, I recommend this restaurant, especially when you are extremely hungry. The price was reasonable, less than $10 for lunch and about $12 for dinner. The athmosphere is nice although the music I found it a bit too loud and distracting. You also don't have to worry about parking space as this restaurant located in a small shoping area with a lot of parking spaces.
